In their first ever tour, the Welsh Chamber Choir / Côr Siambr Cymreig present a programme of beautiful, romantic music from Wales and the British Isles.  Beginning with Elgar’s thrilling hymn to nature O Wild West Wind, the Chamber Choir finishes with the lush, heartbreaking serenity of Howells Requiem.  In between, they will perform John Rutter’s explosive Hymn to the Creator of Light, pieces by Welsh favourites William Mathias and Dilys Elwyn-Edwards, and a premiere by emerging choral composer Gareth Treseder.  Made up of some of the finest singers in Wales, and conducted by rising star Tomos Watkins, this is concert, and a choir, not to be missed!

O Wild West Wind – Edward Elgar (1857–1934)

Four Welsh Folk-Songs – William Mathias (1934-1992)

Beloved (world premiere) and The Lord’s Prayer – Gareth Treseder (b. 1989)

Two Psalms and Tresaith – Dilys Elwyn-Edwards (1918-2012)

A selection of folk-song from the British Isles

Hymn to the Creator of Light – John Rutter (b. 1945)

Requiem – Herbert Howells (1892-1983)
